Dingwall-based RJ McLeod has started initial enabling works for the construction of the Toftingall Battery Energy Storage System near Spittal, in Caithness with the first stage seeing access tracks to the site constructed.  The main site civils works are scheduled to start in early October and the programme is expected to last until around February 2027.

Boralex will host a drop-in session for local residents on Thursday 8th October between 1.30pm and 5pm in Spittal Hall to bring further information about the construction programme and the project in general and allow members of the public to ask questions of the project team.
